Con Season Begins

Sakura Con is next weekend!! Wooo! It'll be my first time going with my fellow creative, at a small press booth!
Here's where we'll be!!



I'm pleased to say that my Lolita accessory inventory is stocked and I'm bringing some extra ears I can add onto other headdresses if anyone so desires. Fascinators and Usamimi will make their debut!

I feel like I need to change up my display a bit from last year. I've noticed people don't bother flipping through print books anymore, so I've made a thumbnail sheet and will be hanging up as many posters as I can fit for viewing from afar. That seems to be the norm at cons nowadays. Man, I still feel so behind on conventions!!

We're also doing a FREE RAFFLE twice per day at the booth. Everyday we will hand out tickets, so be sure to stop by and get yours! We'll be giving away t-shirts, towels and posters!

I've also prepared a production booklet for viewing to show off some of the background art, character designs and storyboard pages from the Shadow Magic anime project. I would be honored if you'd like to have a look and share your thoughts! And, as always, I'd love to hear from you if you're interested in becoming a collaborator or contributor, whether directly in the anime production pipeline, or with your help with spreading the word! I would like to reward any link sharing and features with some DA points (just let me know in this journal comments or via private note). Shadow Magic is very dear to me, and I hope you will enjoy it too!

About the Shadow Magic story. On the outside, from the illustrations I've done so far, it looks pretty happy-go-lucky, when in fact, it's pretty dark. There are some pretty adult underlying themes which I don't wish to spoil just yet. Avery goes through a lot of changes from her normal, reserved self into a psychotic, loose cannon. To be honest, the story has undergone a major overhaul in the last couple of years. Standards of storytelling in anime has changed a lot since 10 years ago and so have my writing skills. It's time to tell the real story behind Shadow Magic and not the mask it was hiding beneath.
